Fishery Rules and Regulations
All persons holidaying with
La Cohue Fisheries (anglers and guests) must agree to abide by
all rules as laid down by the management.
You
are fishing a beautiful lake. The fish contained in the lake give pleasure to you the angler and we see no reason why their existence should be
threatened or harm come to them in any way. Treat the fish with consideration. Any damage or interference with the fish/wildlife/environmental
surroundings will NOT be tolerated and you will be asked to leave immediately. The following are strict rules and checks will
be made during your holiday to make sure they are carried out to the letter. We make no apologies as any reasonable angler
will understand.

Barbless hooks only for ALL species incl. catfish. Barbless hooks means
barbless! No micro barbs, no crushed barbs just standard barbless hooks as described on the packet at time of purchase. No
excuses will be entertained and fishing will be stopped for whole party if any member is found to be breaking this rule. The
only exception to this rule is that crushed barb treble hooks may be used for pike.

NEVER leave rods unattended –
no angler should be more than 5 metres away from their rods if they are in the water. Do not leave bait attached to the hook
when out of the water as it is attractive to the wildlife.
·
No bent hooks or nailers of any sort are allowed.
·
No lead core or shock leaders to be used.
·
Wire traces MUST be used for
Pike.
·
No fixed/bolt rigs to be used. Safety rigs may be used but please make
sure these work effectively and check them regularly.
·
No braided main line to be used. Braid is only allowed for hook links no
longer than 12 inches or for use with markers.
·
Maximum 3 rods per person.
·
Strictly NO sacking
or use of keepnets for ANY fish. Have your landing net, unhooking mat, weigh sling, scales and camera handy
before you start fishing.
·
No nuts, seeds or particles of any kind except sweetcorn.
·
Large unhooking mats are compulsory
and are NOT provided.
·
ALL fish must be treated with respect and returned gently and unharmed to
the water as quickly as possible.
·
Please use iodine or Klinik preparation
on any wounds or hooks pulls.
·
Do NOT walk about on the bank carrying a fish. Hold it close to the ground
for photographs.
·
Minimum 15lbs
breaking strain line recommended.
·
Please use the
toilet NOT the area around the swims.
·
NO rubbish to be left around the lake. Please
use the bins and sacks provided for your rubbish.
·
Never remove any overhanging branches from trees or damage the flora in any
way.
For the benefit of all - Respect the
natural surroundings
· Always park your vehicles in the allocated parking
area.
· Use the boats to get to the swims on the far bank.
· Never wander on other people's property and always
obey the country code.
· Never leave litter and always use the bins provided.
· Radios must be played at a reasonable level.
· Bait boats are allowed - use with consideration.
·
No fires to be lit anywhere.
· Please dispose
of your rubbish as indicated on the bins.
· Visitors must be courteous to others using the lane
to the lake.
· No swimming in the lake.
·
No children under the age of 16
are allowed to night fish on their own. At all times a responsible adult must accompany them and have them sitting next to
them.
· WATER IS DANGEROUS! ALWAYS HELP SOMEONE LESS SURE-FOOTED
THAN YOURSELF AND BE PARTICULARLY CAREFUL WHEN USING THE BOATS.
LIFE JACKETS ARE PROVIDED - PLEASE USE THEM.
ALCOHOL AND BOATS DO NOT MIX !!!!!!

are subject to change. Notification at least 28 days prior to departure will apply to tackle / method changes. Notification
of minor points will be at the time of your arrival. If in doubt PLEASE ASK!
